Escape to the Italian Riveria

Poppy Resort Report

One of the memorable things about my trips Italy is the vibrant colours.
The villages that hug the clifftops and coastline are bright and colourful,
the houses and villas look a treat painted in pretty gelati shades,
even the fishing boats, beachside cafes and roadside stalls
are all decked out in the colours of the rainbow!

Summer Cool Off

Cool down on a hot summer's day with ...
a swim in the pool
a dip in ocean
a bowl of raspberry sorbet straight from the freezer
or a homemade raspberry popsicle.

Skin Deep

FOR YOUNGER LOOKING SKIN TAKE CARE TO MOISTURISE DURING SUMMER

Living and holidaying on the coast can leave your skin feeling dry and parched.
A day at the beach with sun, salt and wind will all play their part in dehydrating your skin so it's important to replace that lost moisture.

Creams, lotions and potions are keys to locking moisture into your skin. This works wonders for temporarily plumping fine lines and smoothing dry patches, leaving the skin to appear hydrated, fresher and more youthful.

Natural Selection

To create a relaxed, natural feel in your beach house combine modern furniture with textured elements and reclaimed timber. Mix old with new and modern with organic to create rooms that are down-to-earth and inviting. Pieces with age, texture and character will add warmth and interest to your scheme. Consider hand crafted pieces like a hand knitted chunky wool throw and homemade cushions. Furniture upholstered in natural materials like linen, cotton and leather set against a backdrop of rustic timber, coir, sisal, natural stone, lining boards, white washed cane and bamboo will create a low-key, pared back, natural looking beach house that makes you want to kick back and relax!

Tropical Chic

Tropical chic

TRopica; Vibe

Capturing the spirit of the Bahamas and the Caribbean
these fresh inspiring interiors pay hommage
to exotic tropical island destinations with a relaxed, tropical feel.
Crisp white, fresh greens, a splash of vibrant colour,
natural textures, cane furniture, sisal rugs and palm trees
all contribute to a laid back tropical vibe.

Fish - North Bondi

Chic and casual for a relaxed lunch

Over the last month or so I have been lucky enough to be working on a project in Sydney. It included a site visit to Sydney on the most perfect day imaginable - warm, sunny and blue skies. After an early start and a morning site meeting - the afternoon was my own to check out a few new designer eateries that had hit the scene since I was there 18 months ago. Fish in North Bondi was my first stop and was well worth the effort, despite getting horribly lost in my little hire car. With a new look, a new menu and a new name this restaurant overlooking Bondi Beach did not disappoint. I studied the decor (which filled my head with new and inspiring ideas), I watched the beautiful people relaxing and having fun with friends and feasted on freshly caught prawns and housemade passionfruit soda (pictured above) all presented with an imaginative twist. As I sat there watching the surfers with the sun streaming in I thought no wonder tourists love Sydney so much and never want to leave because that's how I felt!
